Okinawa Sea Snake - Banded Krait Some people have all the luck. Good tropical diving just for the taking. This Sand Island Tale delivers a suble message concerning shell collecting.

Strawberrie Anemones and Flatworm Have you ever tried macro photography in heavy surge? If you have this Tale will bring back fond, no, frustrating memories.

Ask an Okinawa resident for a dive story and he delivers a Tale about diving in Baja's cool water. I guess "there's no place like home" for a North American.

Lost net draped over living coral Not our usual happy Tale, this story about environmental problems in Indonesia gives our "Waterlogged" water drips new meaning.

Scene at Pyramid Head Dozens of times I flew right over some fantastic diving and opportunities to photograph dozens of red creatures in the Channel Islands of California on the way to the South Pacific.

Tiger Cowrie We don't hear much about the diving in Okinawa but lately I've heard reports of fantastic nudibranch and a variety of live shell sightings mixed with stories of sharks and rays.

Steve Schalk, based in Okinawa, proves up part of the "Tales" with his story about the Cowries at Tengan Pier.

Dry Suit Open Water Training With over 2000 warm water dives under her belt, Deb approached cold water diving by taking the dry suit speciality course from PADI course director, Ray Simon, at The Scuba Center in Oceanside, California.

This SeaHorseTale describes the dry suit experience from an experienced warm water wimp's point of view. If you've ever wondered about cold water diving and ruled it out as too miserable, read this Tale.

Buoyancy Practice Sophia writes "As you watch this diver hit the bottom, you notice a cloud of rubble where a once intact coral lay."

This non-adventure SeaHorseTale describes the destruction we've all seen and one training program that helps divers learn to control themselves. At least control their buoyancy, anyway!

Our first contribution to the "preservation of the coral reef environment".

Elphinstone scene Maria and Sophia fulfilled a longtime dream, diving the Red Sea in style on a 10 day liveaboard trip. The weather was good, the company fine and the creatures were going about their business. Read about their behavior in this article...

Chris gearing up for Nitrox I had not planned it, but could not resist the opportunity to become Nitrox certified on the ship that was the first to offer mixed gas diving to sport divers.
